After serving as full time faculty for twenty years at The George Washington University School of Medicine, Dr. Mintz, MD left academics in July 2017 to start a private Internal Medicine and Primary Care practice in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Mintz has won numerous teaching awards including the GW School of Medicine’s Distinguished Teacher Award, and Dr. Mintz continues to have medical students in his clinic. Dr. Mintz has published in peer reviewed journals on topics including asthma, diabetes, dyslipidemia, and medical education, and he has been consistently named one of Washingtonian Magazine’s Top Docs since 2012.

Dr. Mintz received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Chicago and a medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine, where he also completed a residency in internal medicine and was chief medical resident. He received a Master Teacher’s certificate from the George Washington University Graduate School of Education and Human Development.

Dr. Mintz is currently a solo practitioner in Bethesda, Maryland. He offers concierge service to his patients and is one of the few physicians in the area that certifies patients in both the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia for medical cannabis as part of his regular practice. Dr. Mintz grew up in the area, graduating from Winston Churchill HS, and currently lives with his wife and two teenage daughters in Rockville, Maryland.
